Dusty Feet Mob

From the sand hills of Port Augusta to the bustling streets of Adelaide — young Aboriginal performers using song and dance to tell stories of the Stolen Generations and help heal the pain of the past.

Who we are

More than a dance group.

Dusty Feet Mob is an Aboriginal intergenerational dance collective from Port Augusta. Dancers, families, Elders, mentors and supporters working collectively, carefully, with cultural responsibility at the centre.

Led by Co-Artistic Directors Wanita Calyun and Robert Crilly-Taylor. Traditional dance sits beside contemporary choreography. Story that can be joy and kinship, and story that can be removal and grief. We do not separate them.

In their words

Hope, carried.

“This song is my own personal and painful story… to see it interpreted so meaningfully by the young Dusty Feet Mob dancers gave me a sense that my story, and the stories of the Stolen Generations, would be carried on.”

Uncle Archie Roach

“Watching the performance helps me move forward. It may be raw but it tells the true story of what happened to many of us.”

Geoff Cooper, Stolen Generations survivor
